Casemates of the third floor of the fort

In the time of plague laboratory there were living quarters here. During the outbreaks of the plague on the fort in 1905 and 1907, here were the isolated rooms set for doctors who contracted the plague during scientific research. Here the head of the laboratory Dr. V. Turchaninov-Vyzhnikevich and Dr. M. Schreiber died because of plague infections. 'Heroes of duty' so they were named by 'Niva' magazine in 1907. They are forgotten now and there are no a decent memorial plaque

Memory of them not immortalized, the fort is not even an unpretentious memorial plaque.
