Türkiye controlled Palestine from 1516 to 1917. In October 1917, the British invaded Palestine from Egypt, in December General Allenby entered Jerusalem, and in September 1918 the Turks finally left the Promised Land. The photo is a reminder of 400 years of Turkish rule.
