Interiors of the southwest tower

The tower has three tiers, the lower one is covered with a stone vault. The picture shows the second tier of the tower. The octagonal shape of the tower reduces the space of 'dead' zones around the tower. Apparently, this direction was considered by the builders of the fortress as the most threatened.
