Second line of Aqueduct

Under the emperor Hadrian water in the city again became scarce, so the second stage of Aqueduct was erected - the so-called 'lower' aqueduct. Both lines were built by the Roman soldiers of the X Legion, since the leadership of the Roman army believed that the soldier should be busy all the time, otherwise the army would begin to decompose. On the stones of the aqueduct, one can still find inscriptions of the builders in the form of the letter 'X'.
