Actually for the sake of what this site was started is a fortification. The photo shows the remains of the Crusader fortress. Its size is not large - it is a rectangle with sides of 400 by 250 meters. Under the walls is a dry moat 7-8 meters wide and 6 meters deep. The thickness of the walls is up to 4 meters, the height before destruction was about 15 meters. The fortress had 14 powerful rectangular towers. There is an assumption that the crusaders built their fortifications on the old foundations of the walls of the times of the Caliphate.
