In the mid-1980s, it was planned to saw the turret for the scrap metal in order to install the 120 mm Ersta turret gun in its place, but for the time being, the Ersta project also finished. Well, by the end of the 1980s, the Norwegian local history community finally woke up and said a resolute 'no!' to plans of the Norwegian military to destroy a valuable historical monument.
