More than 200 batteries were built by the Germans along the entire coast of Norway. Among the guns of the 'Atlantic Wall' on the coast of Norway, 40 guns had a caliber more than 240 mm. These batteries did not participate in hostilities and after May 1945 the Norwegians got them in good condition and they were in service with the Norwegian army until the mid-1960s, and then some were in reserve until the 1990s.
The picture shows the turret 280-mm battery of Fort Austrott.
