Eastern bay of Kristiansand

The island of Odderoya is stretched from north to south and naturally divides the two bays of Kristiansand into two parts - East and West. Long before the founding of the city here, the East Bay served as a staging post for trade in timber, which was floated along rivers from the mountainous part of Norway.
