On the beach of Vihkrevoy island

These stones are traces of granite mining on the island. They are everywhere here and there are quite large granite careers, traces of breaking are clearly visible. Chipped granite blocks were transported ashore and further, apparently, loaded onto a floating craft and transported to St.Petersburg city. On the northern shore a mooring pier was piled out of them, which was also dismantled and taken to St.Petersburg as needed.
