The writing on the wall

This piece of plaster with the autograph of a German soldier was taken out by master M. Gusev in August 1944 during the repair of the main staircase of the Castle. It was filled with plaster and preserved for the future museum. The inscription said: “Here we were, we will not return again, when Ivan comes, everything will be empty. Richard Wurf, Stettin, Uhlandschtrasse 2.”
