This story begins in the times of the Crimean (East) War 1853 - 1856. In August 1854 the Russian fortress Bomarsund at Åland islands was seized by English-French fleet of admirals Napier and Parseval-Duchenne (65 ships). A Fårösund strite was used them as base for the raid to Åland islands, Sveaborg and Kronstadt. Formal Sweden protests were useless and there were no Sweden guns...
