Battery #3

This is an oldest of all the Fårösund batteries. The first coastal artillery positions were built here in 1712 during the Great Northern War. The point was strategically important because here you can fire to the eastern entrance of Fårösund Straits and to approaches of cape Bungenäs itself. Cape Bungenäs is a convenient landing place for enemy troops.
