Underground synagogue

After the conquest of Jerusalem, the Arabs, unlike the Byzantines and Romans, did not drive Jews out of the city and at first they were allowed to approach the Temple Mount, go down into these tunnels and pray as close as possible to the supposed site of the Holy of Holies of the destroyed Temple.
