View of the fortress walls of the Old City from the Yamin Moshe quarter at the sunset.
On the left side of the photo you can see the Citadel with the 'Tower of David', which will be discussed separately in due time.
The wall in the photo goes around the Armenian Quarter.
Yamin Moshe is the first Jewish quarter built outside the walls of the Old City in the 1850s-90s.
In the old days, it was unsafe to live outside the city walls, so in the new quarter, in order to attract residents, rooms were rented out almost without payment.
Now the 'Artists' Quarter', as it named nowadays, is one of the most fashionable and expensive quarters of Jerusalem.
