Dry moat

In the area where the wall adjoins the Citadel, a section of a dry ditch has been preserved. It is reported that back in the 19th century the such ditch was preserved in many areas in front of the walls of the fortress, and at the Jaffa Gate it was filled in only just before the visit of the memorable Kaiser Wilhelm.
