Kidron Valley or Valley of Jehoshaphat, City walls (Jerusalem)

Kidron Valley or Valley of Jehoshaphat

Kidron Valley or Valley of Jehoshaphat

Kidron means 'gloomy'. It was here, in the shadow of Mount Moriah (Temple Mount), that Jehovah promised to bring all nations, raising them from the dead, and bring about the Last Judgment on them. Christian, Jewish and Muslim cemeteries and tombs of different times and peoples are mixed and layered one on top of the other. It will be an enchanting sight when they are all resurrected. In the center of the composition is the so-called 'Tomb of Absolom'. In the background are the Arab areas of Ras al-Amud and beyond it Bat al-Hama.
