Close to the Lion Gate is the northern wall of the Temple Mount with the Gate of the Tribes of Israel (Bab Al-Asbat). This gate was built in the 16th century, but at this place (or nearby) the gate of the same name was mentioned back in the time of the Second Temple. There is police security at the entrance; non-Muslims are not allowed in strictly. There are a total of 17 gates in the walls of the Temple Mount, but 6 of which are walled up.
