Cast a massive structure with a wall thickness up to 22 cm was used to set up the machine gun. It was mounted on wooden frames in the trenches and covered by earth on three sides and top. I've have seen things like that, imbedded roof of concrete bunkers on the Salpa-line in Finland. This one was was found in the wood near to Lembolovo.
