Walls of Novy Gorod
In 1653 the Tsar's edict about erecting of new fortress of the monastery was announced. Foreign expert was called - adventurer and schemer Jean de Gron (Anton Granovsky) from France. He began to build the bastion fortress after italian model but his project was rejected by monastery authority. They wonted to build the stone town like one in Triniti-Sergiev Monastery...
