It was erected in 1700 on the site of a former wooden church of an unknown year of construction. Since 1776 it is a cathedral. In 1825, the building was thoroughly rebuilt according to the design of the architect A. Starov. During the years of Soviet power, there was a vodka factory here. In the 1990s, the plant was closed and for a long time until the 2010s the cathedral stood abandoned and gradually collapsed. Since 2014, church services have been held in the cathedral.
In the background on a bench are well known heroes of the old Soviet cartoons.
