Vologodskaya Tower (1656)

The tower was named so because the road to Vologda passed next to it. It was the very first of all the towers of the New City. Its height together with the lookout tower is more than 30 m. Of its five tiers, the lower 4 are designated for artillery, the upper one for rifleman. The upper one also has oblique loopholes for covering space under the tower's wall.
