View of the Prison Yard from the 'New City' (Novyi Gorod). From left to right you can see the Treasure Chambers, the Belozerskaya and Kosaya Towers, and in front of them is the gate in the fence of the Prison Yard. The city wall between these towers (1663-1667) from the mid-17th century was used as a safe place for imprisoning religious and state criminals, such as schismatics, etc.
