Israel Tal memorial

Israel Tal (1924-2010) began his military career in Italy in 1942 in the Jewish Brigade of the British army. He made his path from a junior officer in 1948 to the commander of the Southern Front in Yom Kippur War. He was an author of the Israeli doctrine of armored forces and initiator and project manager for the creation of the Merkava tanks.
