Snake trail in it's upper part

The last 50 meters of the trail before the top are quite steep staircase. There is no doubt that, given the approach of the enemy Zealots thoroughly destroyed all the approaches to the top, and hence on this side (as well as the south and the north) Masada was a really unapproachable fortress. The only option for an assault was the west side of the fortress.
