Monastic community

When the Byzantine monks were there, the fortress seems to have no dwellings preserved (in this area there were at least two big earthquakes). They used to live in caves and the former quarry. Beneath the mountain they had hired gardeners with garden, where every day they sent a trained donkey. Donkey knew what to do - he slapped down, get it's watermelon rinds and returned with cargo.
