Remains of a apartment house near one of the towers in the eastern part of the fortress. Josephus writes about the high towers of which was a passage to the upper floors of apartment buildings. Apparently this is the case. However, it should be noted that in fact he never been in Masada. He had been in this area in his youth when he lived among the Essenes, but in that times there was a Roman garrison in the fortress and unlikely inquisitive Jewish youth would be able to visit the castle and stay alive after that tour.
