Romans had to build a siege ramp height of 50-100 m., made a stone platform for the installation of siege towers atop of it. All of this has been made under a hail of stones and arrows from the top (besieged had not only bows and arrows, but ballistes too). Layers of tree trunks for its strengthening were discovered inside the ramp discovered. Hundreds of rebels captured in Jerusalem were used under ramp's construction.
