Herod's sauna

Heart Herod's bath complex was the Calderiy or hot room (sauna). The room had a double floor - hypocaust, under whom hot water leaked, and in the walls a special clay pipe for hot steam were hide. The photograph shows a support piles for that double floor. In addition to the bath there was a fridzhitery or cold room with a pool, warm room or tipidery and a courtyard with a space for gymnastic exercises. All of this was arranged in the middle of the desert wild 2 (two!) thousands of years ago.
