It was ordered to break through Finnish defense lines and open a way to Vyborg city for birthday of the Leader Stalin. The offensive was accomplished without necessary reconnaissance and preparation. Mass and concentrate bombardments and shellings of the area did not cause pillboxes any harm. During attacks Finns cut off infantry from tanks by machine-guns flank fire of pillboxes. Then they destroyed tanks in depth of positions without hurry. In twilight survived Red Army men crawled away in hastily prepared entrenchments...
