Narva River and flank 5th ravelin are seen. Long building on the shore is the former cotton warehouses. Now here the rowing base is based, in 1941-1944 here was a German camp for prisoners of war with inscription on the Gates 'Arbeit macht frei'. From 1945 to 1955 there was a Soviet labor camp politic prisoners. The slogan on the building was changed to 'Let's expiate the blame with a fair work'. More than 10 thousand people went through the Soviet camp, and more 1000 were dead and buried in unmarked graves on the Alexander cemetery in Sijvertsi, not far from the city.
