Yaroslav's courtyard

View of Yaroslav's Dvorishche from the Sofia side of the city. It is also known under the name of the “Knjazjiy Dvor” (“Princely Court”) from the 12th century. It was a residence of the knjaz and was located outside the belt of the Kremlin walls, thereby emphasizing the subordinate role of the knjaz in relation to the republican government.
