They also say that at the end of the 19th century it housed the first local history museum in Novgorod. After the WW2, the tower served as a shelter for the printing house of the newspaper 'Novgorodskaya Pravda', which is why it can also be called the Typographical Tower. In the foreground is the outbuilding of the museum library, built in the 1890s.
