In March 1940, the commander of the battery went to Oslo because of illness and acting commander was a former commander of the battery kommandørkaptein Andreas Anderssen, who by that time was retired more than 13 years and lived in Drøbak. On the night of the 9th of April he was summoned to the castle and arrived to the battery. Neither he nor the rest of his men did not know if these ancient torpedoes works or will they be able to leave the launcher's tunnels...
