Main battery: firepost

This battery was armed by 6-and large-caliber guns. The battery was built in 1870-1880th on the south side of the Main Fort. It represented the main firepower of Oscarsborg fortress. In the picture - a historical place, from which the early morning of April 9, 1940, fortress commandant Birger Eriksen commanded the battle with the German invasion forces headed with cruiser "Blucher".
