Persi

"Persi" is the old fashioned Pskov's word means "the breast". In fortification it means escarp fortified by stone walls. Also it means a citadel's wall afield mounded at inside. The Dovmontova Tower is seen on the right. The symbol of old Pskov's liberties - the "vechevoj" bell hung there on the wall (where the sword hangs now). This bell called the peoples of Pskov to the "veche" - the people assembly in front of Trinity Cathedral.
