Rearside of the battery
There was only breastwork without roof at first. In 1868-69 metal blindage was built above the gun's emplacements. There were 5 such armour-plate breastworks on the forts in 1860-70-th and only one preserves till nowadays. Albert Swede (1820 - 1864) was an military engineer, colonel and superintendent of construction works on the fort Constantin.
