Fort Citadel
Autumn of 1824 in Kronstadt, a 'misfortune worse than any enemy' befell - a catastrophic flood, from which the fortres suffered such damage that no enemy could ever cause it. The fortress as a combat unit practically ceased to exist. Fort Citadel was also very badly damaged, but was quickly restored one of the first of all other fortifications of Kronstadt.
