Ruins of the 1st prison Corps
In the early 1920s, restoration work began in the fortress and in 1928, a museum dedicated specifically to the prison history of Shlisselburg as a branch of the Leningrad Museum of the October Revolution was opened in the former prison buildings. In the picture, traces of German shelling in 1941-44.
