The prisoners Decembrists, leaders of the Polish uprisings, members of the Narodnaya Volya, Black Redistribution societies and others were, I believe, for the most part not neurasthenics, but very firm people and definite in their intentions. In the picture is the cell number 3, where pole Bronislaw Schwarze was sentenced (see his Memoirs). The situation is quite decent and, judging by the memoirs, consistent with historical truth.
