On the guard

It should be mentioned that this fort was considered by the Swedish military in 1930s as obsolete and subject to disarmament. IMHO it was a mistake. Nobody knew then that a year later, in April 1940, the much more “obsolete” Norwegian fort Oskarsborg with its guns of the late 19th century in open emplacements will give a fitting rebuff to the German invasion forces.
