And here is the flood in Venice. There it is poetically called 'high water'. The causes of floods are the same as in northern Venice - wind surge of water from the sea into the Venetian Lagoon. There, however, they also recently built a flood protection complex called 'Moses' in the form of pop-up dams across the passages through the Lido spit. They say it helps. But now the dam is controlled from Rome, and there they are often late with orders.
