Hospital of Sveaborg fortress

It is reported that in the Swedish era until 1808, the square of the stone barracks of the 1750s stood in this place. In 1820, construction of the main building of the hospital with two floors for 260 beds began on. The author of the project was the famous architect Karl Ludwig Engel. The construction was delayed until 1831, the contractors were such people as Sinebrychoff, Ushakov, Kiseleff - a very famous surnames in these places.
