Under the Sweden rule there was a one-story artillery workshop built in 1752. The current 3-storey building was erected in 1849-52 as a hospital building with 200 beds. In 1860 the building was used as the barracks of the engineer battalion. In 1899 rotten wooden floors in residential premises were replaced with asphalt. In 1918-1919 there was a special prison No. 17 and a ward for patients with venereal diseases. Now it is the head office of the Finnish Navy Maritime Academy, there is also a hostel for officers, training laboratories, administration and a gym. Inscription '1756' on the facade is the date of the formation of the Swedish skerry fleet, the base of which was Sveaborg.
