Ship bell

Ship bell

Ship bell of the legendary battleship Veinomäinen - the pride of the Finnish Navy. Ship was laid in October 1929 and by the way was the first of the surface combat ships with diesel-electric engine and gas turbine. After the war, the USSR was bought out the ship and it until 1966 served as a coastal monitor for the Soviet Navy under name 'Vyborg'. And the ship’s bell is here, at the entrance to the main building of the Maritime Academy in Suomenlinna.
