№3 Battery

In 1880 work on the fortifications of the island continued, and they is generally acquired their present form. In the picture the gun's emplacement and traverse battery №3 are seen. The battery itself is about 100m long, emplacements overgrown with grass. Just before the First World War the battery was armed with 4 9-inch. mortars of 1877 model.
