JR 200 monument

Monument of JR 200 (200-th infantry regiment) is on the photo. This unit was formed here in February 1944 with Estonian, which did not want to be in service with Soviets or Germans and fled from occupied Estonia to Finland. The regiment consisted of two infantry battalions of 4 company each, mortar and antitank companies. The regiment fought against Soviets in Karelian Isthmus on the Finnish 10-th infantry division June-July 1944. It was discontinued August 1944 and most of it's soldiers were transferred back to Estonia, were they continued fight with Soviets near to Tartu.
