Ingermanland Bastion

Ingermanland Bastion

The bastion was built by Swedes according to the project and under the leadership of Eric Dahlberg shortly before the Great Northern War (1700-1721). Dahlberg planned to erect 11 bastions around Tallinn in total, but by the beginning of the war, only three bastions were combat-ready. The bastions were kept in a good form until 1864, when Revel (Tallinn) was removed from the register of the empire's fortresses.
