Embrasure, Turkinsaari island (Trongsund)

Embrasure

Embrasure

The bunker has two exits, protected by an extension on the front wall - a caponier with rifle embrasures, from which it is possible to shoot along the bunker's walls. The concrete is covered with tracks of bullets and shrapnel - traces of the Second World War. During the Winter War, the island was surrendered on March 9, four days before the end of hostilities. In 1944, Soviet troops violently stormed the island, but were never able to take it.
