Mine station interiors, Turkinsaari island (Trongsund)

Mine station interiors

Mine station interiors

The station was intended for remote control of galvanic mines in the strait opposite the island. The anti-splinter covering of the metall I-beams on the ceiling has been ripped out and scarped, so the interiors have a rather gloomy look. Looks like it was done in the post-war period by Russians, since the Finns probably planned to use the magnificent bunker as a shelter from bombing and shelling.
