Former Peredovaya battery

In the first half of the 1860s, 5 artillery batteries were built on the Ravansari island. They were located in a row across its northern end. The gun's emplaced were covered with 2-3 meters height earthen breastwork. 49 guns were installed on the island's batteries. There were coastal 8-inch, steel 24-pound, land and naval 60-pounder, bombs 2 and 3 poods guns. In the center of the fortification was located the so-called Peredovaya ('Advanced') battery.
